Tom Kennedy (1885 - 1965) American Boxer, Actor and Performer. Tom Kennedy was born July 15, 1885 in New York City,New York City, New York, USA. Once a boxer, brawny character actor Tom Kennedy began his film career early in the silent era. He frequently played big, dumb, likable, working-class types, such as in The Case of the Stuttering Bishop (1937). He also worked with W.C. Fields, The Marx Brothers, and Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy in a career that lasted until his death at the age of 80. Boxing match-maker for the Hollywood American Legion Stadium from August 24, 1923 to March 24, 1925. Tom Kennedy died on October 6, 1965 while living at Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, California, USA he had died of Bone Cancer. He was not, as is often reported, the brother of Edgar Kennedy.
